Felt this was appropriate after a friend told me about the price gouging that happens around the holidays. Son, I'm so nice. I jus gotta figure out a way to let as many people know as possible...
Okay I got my mind on my money, economy on decline/ Mindin the economy cause it's my money on the line/ And I keep hearin things gettin rougher but really I don't notice/ I guess the area where I float is/ Far enough away from the waves so I don't/ Feel the ripples, and it doesn't rock my boat/ But maybe that's a little too self-centered cause my folk keep tellin me/ The game ain't the same, it's like Jeopardy/ And if you wanna learn how to be a player you better call Bill Bellamy/ Or Rachel Ray and get up on how to handle ya celery/ Either way you better be ready for the next step readily/ We're no longer swimmin in excess heavily/ It's a time of change for the U.S. presently/ Jus look at our newest presidency/ It's a maze if I can be Frank Beverly/ Tryin to find a way to the middle, get that cheddar cheese/ Have that Jew Money without goin to Tel Aviv/ Out for the cash and a check-check out my melody/ Jus look at the Treasury, it's pitiful/ Everyone tryin to keep spendin to a minimal/ What happened to the land of the free and plentiful/ Everyone lookin for new ways of livin not doin their usual rituals/ And Barack says that he got our back/ But some people expectin a miracle right off the bat/ Come on, at least be realistic if you know you can't relax/ You see how I'm dealin wit it, you can jus ignore the track/ Title, this is recession-proof rap that I'm spittin/ Not lettin the economy body me and be a victim/ Cause how we feel is up to our persuasion/ So when asked what you think about the recession jus say I'm not participatin/ America's always had this "It's all over" fixation/ Well whatever, I'm leavin in a couple anyway so/
